A couple of our Burnaby Golf Academy pros had some major victories this summer. Burnaby Mountain pro Mike Belle won two big tournaments in July. On July 26, he won the 56th Golden Ears Open at Pitt Meadows Golf Club. Past winners include PGA tour players AJ Ewart and Adam Hadwin. On July 12 he came out on top at the 73rd annual Ogopogo Invitational at the Kelowna Golf and Country Club. Mike finished the 54-hole tournament at 14-under par. Carson Kallis also took home a big victory at the 2026 Play Golf BC Assistants’ Championship on June 9 at The Dunes in Kamloops. Learn more about Carson's win.

A special congratulations to our Academy student, Kay Chan, who won the Grizzly Golf Tour Tournament at Central Park Pitch and Putt. At only 9 years old she won the tournament on her first try. Next up for Kay? She’ll be heading to the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT).
Kay has taken lessons from Academy pro Alex Kang for the last 2 years. Alex teaches junior group classes and private lessons out of Riverway Golf Course.
