The BC Amateur Championship and Burnaby Golf Festival a smashing success!

From July 13-16, excitement filled the air at Riverway Golf Course as it hosted the 124th BC Amateur Championship and inaugural Burnaby Golf Festival. British Columbia Golf ran an exceptional tournament, while the Riverway grounds crew kept the course immaculate for 3 days of exciting play. The finale resulted in an exciting playoff between three top competitors, Ryan Vest from Vernon, Paxton Maxwell from Magrath, and Matthew Wilson from Nanaimo. Matthew took the win by smashing a drive down the middle of the fairway to the 18th hole. Read about the exciting finale.  

The Burnaby Golf Festival had a huge launch hosting a completely sold-out roster of clinics and events. Our first ever junior/adult shotgun brought different generations together to play Riverway’s championship course. Our women’s beginner clinic and shotgun brought a diverse group of ladies together in a spirit of play and friendship. Titleist, Callaway and PING were onsite hosting custom club fittings for intermediate golfers, while our junior clinics were packed with eager students wanting to sharpen their skills. And our KP contest resulted in a exciting final day finale, with the winner walking away with a Callaway custom driver. Thank you to BC Golf for partnering with us for the festival.
